2 Hours walking in the beautiful Sierra foothills with hawks on glove, enjoying the majestry of California nature and magnificent raptors.

FALCONRY EXPERIENCE
9:30 am Continental breakfast, meet our falconers, tour mews, learn field etiquette
10:00 am Glove up, hawk hike through foothills, chat about raptors
11:00 am Hawks’ simulated hunt—chase “Robo Rabbit”
12 noon Return hawks to mews, get falcons ready
12:30 pm Easy walk to meadow
12:45 pm Experience lure-flying with falcons, watch them fly 100 mph
1:45 pm Return to base, Picnic lunch includes Huntington Cellars wine
2:25 pm take photos, debrief
3:00 pm We say “Goodbye”

Includes two meals, all supplies. Bring camera, sunscreen, water bottle. Wear sturdy shoes, dress in layers. Transportation to fields available. Wheelchair accessible to some extent.
While hiking though some of California’s most beautiful hills, you’ll experience birds of prey in a natural setting.
Start with a continental breakfast. Then meet the birds and learn field etiquette. We all glove up and wander with our birds through forested hills behind the Academy.
Learn about the ancient sport of Falconry and the role raptors play in our environment. The falconer will cast hawks from the fist and call them back. You can witness the speed and agility of these wonderful birds during simulated hunt as hawks chase the Robo-Rabbit.
After returning our hawks to their mews, back out we go, this time with one or two of our falcons into a near by meadow to watch these stunning raptors in a lure flying demonstration. Our birds can reach speeds in excess of 100mph in an aerial demonstration of speed and agility. After we eat lunch at Picnic Rock (weather permitting) and enjoy a bottle of Huntington Cellars wine.
